This software is not maintained anymore, so please use Wammu instead. You will also get more features, stability and supported phones.

KAlcatel

KAlcatel is program for KDE (K Desktop Environment) 3.x (KDE 2.x was supported till 0.3.1) to manage Alcatel 50x or 70x phone (only 501 is currently tested). It is known to work on Linux, but as well it may work anywhere where KDE 3.x work. Please report me other systems where KAlcatel works (you are also welcome to make binary packages for that system).

KAlcatel has also page on sourceforge: sourceforge.net/projects/kalcatel/, you can use it for bugpreporting, sending comments and patches and also as download mirror.

Current features

Read and write support for:

• calendar
• todo
• contacts (in mobile and SIM)
• messages (in SIM)
• calls (read only)

Saving, loading and merging of stored items.

Version 0.3 adds long awaited write and editing support. And also many other new features:

• editing of data - calendar, contacts, todos
• sending and writing messages
• write edited data to mobile
• signal and battery status monitoring
• persistent connections
• simplified contacts tree

In version 0.3.1 were just fixed some bugs and added support for deleting.

In version 0.3.2 is mostly only port to KDE 3.

Version 0.3.3 is just bugfix release.

Planned features

This souftware currently doesn't support Alcatel OT 715. It support is be possible if somebody helps me with development (or would buy me this phone ;-). AFAIK it uses simmilar protocol, but there are few differences.

Planned is to support as much phone features as possible. Here is list what will be in next version - 0.4:
